Manchester City Agree to sign Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos on a free transfer

Without much doubts, Manchester City football club will most definitely remain keen on challenging the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for the Premier League title this season.

The Premier League giants were one of the most active Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window as they completed the signings of Kalvin Philips, Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.

But then, following reports that central midfielders Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva are willing to leave the club, Manchester City are very much aware of the need to sign a new midfielder.

And if reports are anything to go by, then Manchester City have been linked with a move for experienced Real Madrid central midfielder Toni Kroos when the transfer window opens.

The 32-year-old Germany International, who signed up for Real Madrid after departing Bundesliga side Bayern Munich back in 2014 has been an important member of the first-team squad.

The experienced central midfielder has also been massively influential for Real Madrid so far this season, having already scored one goal and created four assists in the 18 matches he has played.

But then, Toni Kroos has just one year left on his current contract with Real Madrid and due to his refusal to sign a new contract, he could be planning to leave the club.

And according to reports from The Sun, Premier League giants Manchester City are currently monitoring his contract situation as they aim to sign Toni Kroos on a free transfer.

The reports further claimed that the reigning Premier League champions want to add more quality to their midfield options and are willing to secure the signing of Toni Kroos when he becomes a free agent.

But then, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid will choose to cash in on Toni Kroos in January or risk losing the experienced midfielder on a free transfer when his contract expires in June 2023.
